Welcome to my blog You Can’t Ride The Head. My name is Maude Dickson and I grew up in the wild forests of Forks and Quilcene in Washington State. I have a deep love of animals, especially horses, books, music, dance, and storytelling. My hobby from the age of three was to watch, follow, and wonder at a band of open range domestic horses running between our farm and several others nearby. I learned so much from them that I have found useful in my life, from handling squabbles directly to protecting the young at all costs.
I was raised without running water or electricity and milked a cow through most of my formative years. I learned to read early on and books have been a steadfast friend through my life. I hoped someday to write one, but, having no knowledge at all on how to get that done, I decided to start blogging as a way to get the stories out of my head and, hopefully, in to your minds and hearts.
A natural storyteller who has lived and is living a very unique life, I hope you will find, joy, hilarity, amazement, and an outlook on life as varied as mine has been so far. Among these stories you will find helpful hints on how I handles certain problems during the years I raised and trained horses. *Hint: the sassier they are, the smarter they are! Surrounded by eight siblings, living in the sticks with no running water or electricity, life is viewed very differently than the average American. Follow me as I tell you about how it happens from my perspective.
We hope you enjoy my blog. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at: https://youcantridethehead.com/?page_id=31
